All'Ill.mo et Ecc.mo sig.r mio ass.mo il sig.r duca di Terranova governatore dello stato di Milano e capitan generale per S.M. cattolica in Italia / 1585.

Report sent to the duke of Terranova who was the governor of the state of Milan and captain of the Catholic army in Italy. The letter was written by the secretary of the pope and calls the duke back to duty in leading the Catholic army. The missive recognizes the many responsibilities relating to governing Milan, but the captain owes the pope much and duke's services are again needed in Rome. The original manuscript was probably written around the middle of the 16th century. This manuscript was copied in 1585. Also found in the same binding: Discourse by Torquato Tasso on the Emperor Charles V and the revolt in France--Discourse on how to build a better fortress--Discourse on how to build fortress walls--Report on Federico Badoer's visit to Charles V and to France--Report on the defenses of Sicily.
